Tropical Cyclone Yasi

Tropical cyclone Yasi (currently a category 3 cyclone) is projected to make landfall in Queensland the evening of Wednesday 2 February. At this stage the cyclone is tracking towards Cairns and is expected to be a category 4 cyclone when it makes landfall.

New Zealanders in Queensland are advised to follow any instructions and advice issued by the Australian authorities. See Queensland's Disaster Management Services website for further information. Please keep family informed of your safety and wellbeing.
