Legal Documents Issued by the Embassy

1. Certificate of Consent to Marry

Certificat de coûtume

States that a New Zealand citizen who is older than 18 years is free to marry without the consent of any other person. The certificate is issued in English, French or Dutch.

• Documents required: Photocopy of the biodata pages of your New Zealand passport
• Delay: One week
• Cost: 30€

2. Nationality Certificate

States name, date and place of birth, passport details. Document issued in English, French or Dutch

• Documents required: photocopy of biodata pages of NZ passport
• Delay: One week
• Cost: 30€

3. Declaration of Individual (or Family) Civil Status

Fiche individuelle (ou familiale) d'état civil

 States your name, citizenship and marital status. This declaration takes the form of a statutory declaration. You will need to come to the Embassy for this Declaration to be issued.

• Documents required: an original copy of your NZ birth certificate; a photocopy of the biodata pages of your NZ passport; original copies of marriage/divorce/death certificates (where applicable)

• Cost: 30€

4. Declaration of NZ Register of Citizens

Attestation d'obligations pour la Nouvelle-Zelande

States that New Zealand does not have a register of citizens nor ID cards. The Certificate is issued in English, French or Dutch.

• Delay:One week

5. Certified True Copy of New Zealand Document

Certification de documents

Confirms the authenticity of original New Zealand documents.

• Documents required: Original of the document to be certified.
• Delay: One week
• Cost: 15.00€

6. Verification of New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs-witnessed Documents
