The New Zealand Embassy and Mission to the EU and NATO are closed on Tuesday 21 July for Belgian National Day.


New Zealand recognised the outstanding contribution of four Belgians on Queen’s Birthday weekend, making them Honorary Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit for their services to New Zealand-Belgium relations and war commemorations.


Every year, the New Zealand and Australian embassies to Belgium organise of series of ceremonies in partnership with the local communities of Ieper (Ypres), Mesen (Messines), Zonnebeke and Comines-Warneton (Komen-Waasten).


New Zealand is proud to partner with the African Union Commission to produce the African Union Handbook 2015. In a significant development, this edition has been published in both English and French.


The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has reviewed its travel advisory for Belgium due to the ongoing threat from terrorism. 


Foreign Minister Murray McCully today welcomed New Zealand taking up its seat as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

“New Zealand’s term on the Security Council will place us at the heart of international decision-making for the next two years,” Mr McCully says.

“The Security Council is currently considering some of the most pressing issues the international community faces, including; the dire humanitarian situation in Syria, ISIL, and Ebola.


The achievements of New Zealand's most celebrated expatriate artist, Frances Hodgkins (1869-1947) will be at the world's fingertips, thanks to generous funding from the Stout Trust.


The 4th European Union-New Zealand Joint Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in Wellington on 8-9 December 2014. 


Last month, New Zealand exchange student Fenella Bowater attended the Light Front in West Flanders


New Zealand has secured a place on the United Nations Security Council for 2015-16.
