The New Zealand Embassy/New Zealand Mission to the European Union is seeking a Policy Adviser to help advance and support New Zealand’s interests with the European Union and accredited countries.
In this busy position, you will support engagement with government officials, local contacts and the business sector. You will be responsible for conducting research and analysis, and preparing policy reports and papers making recommendations.
You will be fluent in English with good written and verbal communications skills, have the ability to produce information in a clear and concise manner, and be able to plan and manage your own time, dealing with several projects at once. Some fluency in European languages would also be helpful.
You will also help to identify and develop strategies for public and profile-raising events and functions that promote New Zealand’s interests.
The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to work in Belgium. Obtaining and maintaining the appropriate working visa is the responsibility of the applicant and any offer of employment is subject to this. In addition relocation to Brussels is to be undertaken at the expense of the applicant.
