New Zealand Embassy & Mission to the European Union, Brussels, Belgium

Anzac Day 2014 commemorations in Belgium

Anzac Day commemorations in Belgium will be held on Friday 25 April 2014.  There will be a series of ceremonies organised in partnership with the Australian Embassy to Belgium and the local communities of Ieper (Ypres), Mesen (Messines), Zonnebeke and Comines-Warneton.

All ceremonies will be open to the public.  New Zealanders who are residing or travelling in Belgium are welcome to attend and participate in the Anzac Day commemorations.

As in previous years, the New Zealand Embassy will organize a bus that will leave Brussels in the early morning of 25 April. This year however, we would like to offer an extended programme, including attendance at the Dawn Ceremony at Passchendale (6am), as well as commemorative ceremonies in Messines (9am), Ieper (11am) and Comines-Warneton (4pm).

The bus will leave Brussels at 4am, and return to Brussels by approximately 9:30pm. The bus will also make one pick-up and drop-off at the Ieper railway station for anyone staying in West Flanders.

The number of seats on the bus is limited.  Registration forms can be obtained via email request to nzemb.brussels@mfat.govt.nz

A copy of the Anzac Day programme is available here and also on our Facebook page, and will be emailed to confirmed participants closer to the day.
