New Zealand Embassy & Mission to the European Union, Brussels, Belgium

As in past years, Anzac Day 2013 will start with a joint Australia/New Zealand (A/NZ) dawn service at the Buttes New British Cemetery at Polygon Wood.

Anzac Commemorations will be held in West Flanders on Thursday 25 April 2013; there will be  a series of ceremonies organised in partnership with the Australian Embassy to Belgium and the local communities of Ieper (Ypres), Mesen (Messines) and Zonnebeke.

The remains of an unknown soldier from the First World War were discovered during excavations in April 2012 in Mesen, West Flanders.  Based on objects recovered with the remains including unit insignia as well as the location of the find, the remains were accepted in August 2012 as that of an unidentified New Zealand soldier.

The Embassy is proud to report that a keen New Zealander, Alexander Revell, is doing his best to make his mark on the Belgian Cyclocross scene.

Below is an introduction from Alex, including a photo of him and his now famous moustache, as well as links to his website and blogspots. We encourage other Kiwis out there to lend their support to Alex and we wish him all the very best for the rest of his season in Belgium, and for the World Champs.
