His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Belgium, Prince Philippe, visited New Zealand recently as part of an Economic Mission to strengthen business links between New Zealand and Belgium.

The New Zealand Embassy/New Zealand Mission to the European Union is seeking a Policy Adviser to help advance and support New Zealand’s interests with the European Union and accredited countries.

The Auckland Police Pipe Band will be visiting Flanders next month following their appearance at the Basel Military Tattoo.  They will perform in a public concert at the Passchendaele Museum at Zonnebeke at 7pm on Monday, 23 July.  The concert will also include a performance by the Passchendaele Pipes and Drums and will last approximately one hour.  They would welcome the support from any Kiwis or interested members of the public who can make it to the concert.

The band will also take part in the Last Post ceremony under the Menin Gate on Tuesday, 24 July at 8pm.


The New Zealand Embassy in Brussels is looking for a professional chef.


The New Zealand Embassy in Brussels wishes to recruit an Executive Assistant to the Head of Mission, to commence duties in September 2012. 


New Zealand has joined other countries in extending its financial commitment to the International Monetary Fund so it has the capacity to deal with any significant disruption to the global economy.

The extra commitment, agreed by Cabinet yesterday, will be made through a US$1 billion (NZ$1.26 billion) standby loan facility, which will be called on if needed. New Zealand will not provide any funds immediately.


A special presentation by Dr David Skilling on Small states in a challenging world will be hosted at the New Zealand Mission on Monday, 25 June at 1000hrs. The presentation will be framed around a recent discussion paper written on the performance and prospects for small states available at:
