War Commemorations in Belgium

Many cemeteries and memorials throughout Belgium commemorate members of the New Zealand Defence forces who died in WWI and WWII.

New Zealand has a very warm relationship West Flanders based on the historic bonds that were formed by New Zealand’s involvement in WWI.

Every year on Anzac Day, the New Zealand Ambassador to Belgium participates in World War I commemorations held at the New Zealand Memorial in Mesen and at the Menin Gate in Ieper.
