Lost or Stolen Funds

The easiest way to obtain funds from New Zealand is to call a friend or member of your family in New Zealand to transfer funds on your behalf.

If you need to call collect from Brazil, the free phone number to call is 0800 890 6411. This is Embratel's Call Home Direct service, where the phone calls you make are charged in New Zealand to the destination number or to a phone card of the international operator.

Your New Zealand contact should call the nearest Western Union office in New Zealand who will advise how to arrange the transfer of money to you.

Important! If your passport has been stolen and you do not have an identity document to collect your transferred funds, you should make sure to ask the person who is organizing the transfer in New Zealand to provide a code word you have both agreed on.
