New Zealand Embassy Brasilia, Brazil

Working Holiday Visa

The Brazil Working Holiday Scheme for 2012 will open in early September

This scheme is the result of a bilateral agreement between the governments of Brazil and New Zealand and opens up 300 places for Brazilians between 18 and 30 years old to stay in New Zealand for up to12 months with the opportunity to broaden their experience through working as well.

Prospective applicants can register on the Immigration New Zealand site and later, when the scheme opens, make their applications online.

In 2012 the scheme will open at 7pm on 02 September, Brasilia time (10am, 03 September, NZ time).

The scheme is always popular. For example, in 2011 all 300 places were filled in less than an hour. Applicants who fail to secure a place the first time around should monitor the site over the following days, as places will sometimes reappear if an accepted application is then declined.

You can find more information on the Portuguese language version of this site or on the Immigration New Zealand website.
