Hobbits, meat pies and lamingtons

The New Zealand High Commissioner Simon Tucker hosted a pre-screening of “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” to an audience of around 350 people in Ottawa on Wednesday 11th December 2013. 

Guests included politicians, diplomats, business contacts and many others with close connections with New Zealand. As well as Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc,guests were served New Zealand themed foods,  which included meat pies, sausage rolls and lamingtons.

This is the second instalment of the Sir Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy which will be released in North America  Friday 13th December 2013.
