Winnipeg Fundraiser for Christchurch Earthquake Appeal 2011

HANDS UP 4 NZ! - a fundraiser event in support of the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal 2011.

On February 22, 2011, at 12:51 pm, the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, and surrounding areas struck by a major earthquake that claimed at least 165 lives, injured hundreds of people, and caused billions of dollars in damage.

To help victims of the quake, the Down Under Club of Winnipeg (DUCW) is partnering with the Canadian Red Cross to organise an evening of remembrance and fundraising on:

Thursday April 7 - 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Triple B’s Restaurant and Billiards, 121 Scurfield Blvd, Winnipeg
Tickets - $15 per person (beer, burger and fries).

During the event, there will be:

• several auctions of fabulous items donated by local businesses and individuals
• a 50/50 draw
• first-hand accounts from members of the DUCW who were in Christchurch during the quake
• visual presentations of the damage in Christchurch.

All monies raised during this event will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross New Zealand Earthquake Fund.
