Promoting Geothermal Links
The Embassy, together with the Santiago Office of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, recently hosted ten representatives from the NZ geothermal industry who were in Chile for a Geothermal Seminar organised by the Chilean Geothermal Association, ACHEGEO. The seminar was attended by 450 people and included a presentation by Blair Dickie, Principal Policy Advisor, Environment Waikato and a joint presentation by Mark Trigg, General Manager – Development, Mighty River Power and Aroha Campbell, CEO, Tauhara North No.2 Trust.

Christmas/New Year Embassy closure
The New Zealand Embassy will close on Friday 23 December and will reopen on Wednesday 4 January 2012.

Greater cooperation on dairy sector productivity explored
The Embassy, through the New Zealand Science and Innovation Promotion Fund, was pleased to support the visit by Phil Beatson to Osorno to present on “The impact of sexed semen in New Zealand Dairy Systems” at a seminar on “New Technologies for the Dairy Sector” organised by Santo Tomas University and the milk producers association Aproleche.
