If you are an international student in the Christchurch area
Please contact the following people as soon as you can to let them know you are safe:

• Your family

• Your provider

• Your local embassy. Find your local one at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website: http://www.mfat.govt.nz/Embassies/2-Foreign-representatives-to-NZ/Diplomatic-and-Consular-List.php

• The Red Cross Person Enquiry Line on 07 850 2199 to register that you are safe.

If you need help with safety or accommodation:

• Contact your provider first

• Contact the Ministry of Education’s Code of Practice team: http://www.minedu.govt.nz/NZEducation/EducationPolicies/InternationalEducation/ForProvidersOfInternationalEducation/CodeofPracticeforInternationalStudents/TeamContacts.aspx

• If you cannot get in contact with your provider, or if you want to discuss your enrolment status, call the New Zealand Qualifications Authority on 0800 697 296.
