President of China Institute of Contemporary International Relations visits New Zealand

President Cui Liru greeted by Prime Minister John Key

Professor Cui Liru, President of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) visited New Zealand, 15- 18 August, as a Prime Minister's Fellow. During his visit, he met with the Prime Minister, Rt Hon John Key, and the Minister of Defence, Hon Wayne Mapp, the Opposition Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hon Maryan Street MP, and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In addition to thinktank discussions, Professor Cui was also invited to speak at public forums hosted at Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Auckland. Professor Cui was accompanied by Professor Zhang Xuegang, Institute of South, South East Asian and Oceanian Studies.
