Head of Mission Fund (HOMF)

The Head of Mission Fund (HOMF) is a grant fund, primarily aimed at supporting small-scale development projects/activities. Recipients will normally be non-government organisations and community groups engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis, or for small scale community-based businesses.  Funding is not for individuals.

Eligible activities in line and in accordance with the general guidelines [PDF 59KB] of the fund may include or contribute to the following:

  • Projects with particular focus on community-orientated projects that benefit the broader community
  • Capacity building for community-based and NGO groups
  • Projects based on sound environmental and ecological practices
  • Youth development
  • Women’s development

A completed application form [PDF 29KB] with supporting documentation should be submitted. If the application is to request for resources, an itemised invoice or quote is a requirement.

The Head of Mission Fund is a small pool of money which can only support between 8 – 10 applications each financial year, from 1 July to 30 June of the following year.

Applications are assessed and considered at four selection rounds which take place at the end of July, October, January and April.
