New or replacement passports

New Zealand passports are issued by the Department of Internal Affairs. The New Zealand Embassy in Cairo does not issue passports.

If you require a new or replacement passport, please visit the Passports Office website, which provides comprehensive information about what you will need when applying for a passport, the applicable fees and where to send your application. You can also download the forms from this website.

You can either send your application to the Passports Office in London or to New Zealand – different fees apply for each. If you wish to lodge your application through the New Zealand Embassy this will attract an additional NZ$50 fee.

The processing time for a correctly completed application by the Passports Office in London is 10 working days plus postage time. The Passports Office in London also offers an urgent service which takes 3 working days plus postage time.
