New Zealand High Commission assists Leadership Fiji's programme
New Zealand High Commission (NZHC) continues to support as a major sponsor the Leadership Fiji programme. This year NZHC under the Head of Mission Fund granted $10,000 to further the work of Leadership Fiji. The High Commission has been a sponsorship of its programme since 2002.
Acting Head of the Mission, Philip Taula congratulated those involved in the Leadership Fiji programme for their ongoing commitment to developing and enhancing the abilities of the next generation of Fiji’s leaders.
Chairman Of Leadership Fiji Mr William Parkinson said that New Zealand’s ongoing support was critical to the survival of the program and the Board , participants and the Leadership Fiji Alumni were deeply grateful for this assistance.
Leadership Fiji’s core role is to develop and enhance the quality of future Fiji leaders.
This is enabled through skills development and building relationships, characterized by respect, trust and understanding amongst individual Leaders representing the diverse elements which make up the Fiji community.
This year will be the 9th Leadership Fiji programme and 186 leaders from a wide variety backgrounds and careers have graduated from the programme
The 2010 programme has 25 participants from 20 different organisations including media, the public sector, finance, commercial sector, NGOs and private business.
