New Zealand Pacific Scholarships for Fiji - 2014

Fiji citizens can now apply for postgraduate study awards at New Zealand institutions for study in 2014.

This follows the announcement made by New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Murray McCully last month that postgraduate scholarships for students from Fiji would be reinstated.

The New Zealand Aid Programme is offering ten New Zealand Pacific Scholarship awards for Fiji citizens to study in New Zealand in 2014 at postgraduate certificate, diploma, masters, and doctorate level.

Selection will be on the basis of strong and proven academic merit, relevance of the proposed study to the human resource development priorities of Fiji and leadership potential.

“We are delighted to be able to offer these New Zealand based scholarships to Fiji citizens from 2014.

“The New Zealand Pacific Scholarships not only recognise and support leadership potential, they build country to country links between New Zealand and Fiji, something we believe is very important” said Mr Ramsden.

Applications open from next week and run until 1 November 2013. Application forms and the list of the tertiary institutions are available from the New Zealand High Commission Office in Suva, from our website (www.aid.govt.nz; www.nzembassy.com/fiji) and the Fiji Government Service Centres in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.

For any further enquiries on this, please contact the New Zealand High Commission office in Suva on 3311422 or 3311448.
