New Zealand-Austria Working Holiday Scheme

IMPORTANT NOTE: The 2012/2013 quota for the New Zealand/Austria Working Holiday Scheme opened 18 April 2012 (the quota of 100 WHS visas was filled the same day within 10 hours). There are no more Working Holiday Scheme visas availalbe for New Zealand. The next quota will open again in April 2013.

A reciprocal Working Holiday Scheme (WHS) was signed between New Zealand and Austria on 15 December 2011. The WHS will allow Austrians aged between 18 and 30 years to work or study during a holiday stay in New Zealand for up to six months. There will be 100 places for each country.

Applications for Austrian citizens wanting to participate in the WHS will open New Zealand time on 18 April 2012.

Applications will be made through Immigration New Zealand website.
