Entitlement and Validity

New Zealand passports are issued to holders of New Zealand citizenship. Passports for adult New Zealanders are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Once a passport has expired, an application for a new one should be made to the Department of Internal Affairs at either Wellington, London or Sydney.
