2012 commemoration at the 1939 – 1945 Berlin War Cemetery

On Wednesday morning 25th April the New Zealand Ambassador Peter Rider hosted the ANZAC day commemorations in Berlin. A half hour ceremony took place at the 1939 – 1945 Berlin War Cemetery on Heerstraße in Charlottenburg. The event was well attended by the Ambassadors and defence representatives of New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Turkey and the United Kingdom, as well as the Mayor of Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, German defence force representatives, representatives of the Royal British Legion, the Commonwealth War Graves Commissioner, a member of the New South Wales Parliament, and members of the public.
