Berlin British School donates for Earthquake Relief

The €500 cheque recieved by NZ Ambassador Peter Rider

On 27 June 2011 the Berlin British School in Berlin-Grunewald presented cheques for €500 each to the Ambassadors of New Zealand and Japan, as a contribution to relief efforts following the earthquakes in Christchurch and the earthquake and tsunami in the Tohoku region of Japan earlier this year. These donations were the result of a painstaking fundraising effort by the pupils of the school, who collected 100,000 one-Euro-cent pieces for the victims of these disasters. The New Zealand Embassy expresses its grateful thanks to the school and its pupils for their kind and generous support.
