Lifeswap: The animated web series

Lifeswap The animated web series

The animated web series that takes a light hearted look at the delights, frustrations and misunderstandings that Germans and New Zealanders encounter when they try to live in each other’s countries.

Lifeswap follows the adventures of two young men, Duncan from Wellington and Jörg from Münster, who spontaneously decide to swap lives for a year and take up residence in each other’s flats on opposite sides of the world.  They catch up each month via Skype to see how it’s all going.  Often not very well but with some unexpected advantages!

Episode 1:  Complete Rubbish:    Duncan falls foul of detailed German rubbish recycling requirements.

Episode 2:  The Tea Towel Stinks:   Jörg learns how to ‘beat around the bush’ kiwi-style so as not to offend his flatmates, whilst Duncan appreciates the benefits of German directness.

MFAT has lent support to the series, along with the Goethe Institut as part of events celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and New Zealand.
