New Zealand Ambassador’s Rugby XV match in Frankfurt
On 5 March at 2pm, in Frankfurt am Main, a New Zealand Ambassador’s Rugby XV team will take on the German National Team as they prepare for their upcoming international season. The Kiwi team consists of Germany- and Netherlands-based players who have Super 14, international and/or NPC-Air NZ Cup experience.
This is the initial match of its kind, but it is hoped that it will become an annual event. The organiser, Aaron Satchwell from SC1880 Frankfurt (and originally Eketahuna), played in a similar event in Washington DC and hopes to bring a great game of rugby for spectators, as well as assisting German Rugby with a tough preseason match. The event should be a great teaser for all rugby fans for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in New Zealand later this year.
The Kiwi team aims to play great forward rugby and finish off with typical Kiwi flair. Its performance promises to be a real crowd pleaser. Frankfurt is a great city to visit for a weekend, and the Kiwi boys would appreciate all the support they can get. There will be refreshments available throughout the game, and the clubhaus itself has an excellent restaurant.
Any enquiries welcome to Aaron Satchwell at awsatchwell@hotmail.com.
