Oktoberfest Munich 2010

Munich’s annual Oktoberfest beer festival is scheduled to take place between 18 September and 4 October 2010.

New Zealanders travelling to the Oktoberfest are advised to register their travel plans online so that we can contact you in an emergency.  You will note this website also includes information on the latest travel advisories by region and country, a travel checklist, information on passports and visas, and advice about what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade can help with should something go wrong.

An official beer festival survival guide containing festival map details, on-site police, lost and found office and other useful tourist information can be found on www.muenchen.de.

New Zealanders attending the Oktoberfest need to be aware of the high incidence of petty crime in many European countries, especially during the summer months.  Experienced criminals often work in organised groups and frequent tourist areas and major attractions.  It is important to look after your bags, wallets and passport.

If you require consular assistance while in Germany, please contact the New Zealand Embassy in Berlin.
