New Zealand Embassy Berlin, Germany

Promising Young Athletes Visit the New Zealand Embassy in Berlin.

E Sutherland, T Lomax, K Forbes-Henry, E Lamb, Amb. P Rider, M Dallow, F Morrison, V Trent, A Smit, R Greene, J Ratcliffe.

A  group of promising young athletes stopped by the Embassy en route to the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan (South-East of Moscow, Russia) to meet the Ambassador and Embassy staff and to catch a glimpse of the Embassy at work.

The (all-girl) group of university students are participating in various events from high-jump to hammer throw as part of the New Zealand Track and Field Team.

The athletes discussed, among other things, their tight training schedules and the difficulties of keeping to a strict diet while on the road – which is particularly difficult in Germany with so many delicious delicacies on offer!

The Embassy team wish the New Zealand athletes all the best and great success in the competition.
