In 2015-16 New Zealand holds a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.


Rt Hon David Carter, Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives, will lead a parliamentary delegation to Germany in April, at the invitation of the President of the German Bundestag, Prof Dr Norbert Lammert.


Foreign Minister Murray McCully today welcomed a visit to New Zealand by Lithuanian Foreign Minister, Linas Linkevičius. 


Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully has announced an additional $1.5 million in Cyclone Pam relief, on top of the $1 million already contributed. 


Tropical Cyclone Pam has caused significant damage in the Pacific. New Zealand is supporting the emergency response in affected countries.


To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) on the Gallipoli Peninsula the Embassies of Australia and New Zealand will be holding a Service of Remembrance at 09:00 hours on Saturday 25 April 2015 at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) World War One Cemetery on the grounds of the Südwestkirchhof (South Western Cemetery), Bahnhofstrasse 2, 14532 Stahnsdorf. 


Two rare white kiwi have hatched from the same clutch for the first time at Pukaha Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre.

To commemorate the centenary, on 25 April 1915, of the Anzac landings on the Gallipoli Peninsula, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and NZ Post have teamed up to mint a commemorative 50 cent coin.
