Air New Zealand has been named one of the top 10 safest airlines in the world by, after a year when fatal air accidents soared above the 10-year average.

The New Zealand Embassy Berlin will be closed on Wednesday 24 December through to Friday 2 January 2015.  The office will re-open on Monday 5 January 2015.


New Zealand’s Ambassador for Disarmament, H.E. Ms Dell Higgie, visited Berlin from 26-28 November to participate in the Second Preparatory Meeting for the First Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which will come into force on 24 December 2014.


49 of Gottfried Lindauer’s Māori portraits are open to the public in Berlin’s Old National Gallery.


The New Zealand Embassy will be closed on Monday 24 November and will reopen on Tuesday 25 November 2014.

Prime Minister John Key has announced German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit New Zealand next week ahead of the G20 meeting of world leaders in Australia.


On Friday 14 November 2014, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was welcomed in Auckland by New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.  The visit reaffirmed the close and long-standing relations between Germany and New Zealand, building on the 60 years of diplomatic relations which were celebrated in 2013.
