New Zealand Embassy Berlin, Germany


Hans-Heinrich Meyer, a German from Lower Saxony who has for many years looked after the graves of New Zealand servicemen in Germany and established contact to their families in New Zealand, has been awarded an Honorary Queen’s Service Medal (QSM).


The Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin is presenting works from Auckland-born photographer Ben Cauchi in its show room at Kottbusser Strasse 10.


The Embassy will be closed on the following public holidays in May 2013:


A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Monday 29 April, at 1pm at the Commonwealth War Graves located at the northern end of Olšanské Cemetery, Vinohradská 153, Praha 3 - Žižkov.

On 8 April, Ambassador Peter Rider and novelist Paula Morris offered an evening of insights into New Zealand literature as part of the English Theatre’s “Berlin Sofa” series. 


Along with German, Austrian and Antipodean members, the Kiwi band Bilders with Bill Direen and Mark Williams are touring Austria and Germany.


New Zealand literature begins at the edge of the universe and roams the world, exploring our rich history, vibrant multicultural society, distinctive natural world, passion for sport, as well as our unique psyche and political landscape.


The Embassy will close from 1300 on Thursday 28 March, Friday 29 March (Good Friday) and Monday 01 April (Easter Monday). 


A Kiwi Fan Group Meeting will be held at the Kiwi-Pub in Steglitz.
