New Zealand Consulate-General Hong Kong

Tariff Locator

Importing goods from Hong Kong

Note: Hong Kong is currently duty-free so there are no tariffs on exports to the territory.

The tariff finder allows you to find both the tariff applying at the date the FTA comes into force and the rates for each year while tariffs are being phased out.

In some instances, (where New Zealand has unilaterally reduced tariffs to a level below the level set out in the FTA), the tariff shown in the tariff finder is different from that shown in the Annex 1 to the FTA.

How to find a HS code

The FTA tariff schedules use the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HS Code).

You can find your HS Code by:

  • Using the tariff finder with a keyword to do a search on your product.

How to search using your HS Code

To use your HS Code to find a product, type in at least the first 4 digits of your 8 or 10 digit HS Code, with no spaces between the digits, then click 'Next'.

How to search using keywords

If you do not know the HS Code for your product, you can enter a description of your product, for example 'apple'. If you get too many results you can go back and enter a more specific description, for example 'dried apples'.
