Christchurch Earthquake

An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude has occurred 10 km south-east of Christchurch on 22 February 2011. This has been followed by a number of aftershocks.

Christchurch Earthquake Appeal

Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key, has launched the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, a global fundraiser for the recovery effort in the city and the Canterbury region.

The Appeal hopes to reach as many people as possible around the world who wish to help and support Christchurch, and is open for donations from both private and government sources.
