Getting married in India

Information for New Zealanders getting married overseas is available from the Births Deaths and Marriages office in Wellington.

Applications for Certificate of No Impediment are available at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi. The High Commission can forward a completed application form to the Births Deaths and Marriages office in Wellington on your behalf.

Please note that it is very important that you contact the marriage authorities in India, or authorities in the other countries to which this High Commission is accredited (Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) to check their marriage laws and requirements.
