Driving the NZ-Indonesia Relationship Forward: ‘New Zealand’s Open’ Golf Tournament

New Zealand’s Ambassador to Indonesia, David Taylor, will host ‘New Zealand’s Open’; a Golf Tournament to take place at Cengkareng Golf Course today.

“New Zealand’s Open is an opportunity for us to celebrate the excellent relationship between Indonesia and New Zealand, across a range of sectors” says Ambassador Taylor. “New Zealand really is open to opportunities to partner with, and work alongside, Indonesia.”

The tournament will bring a New Zealand flavour to Cengkareng, with a range of Indonesian friends and partners negotiating a course dotted with kiwis and sheep, and some rugby goal posts too! Some of New Zealand’s own spectacularly scenic golf courses will also be featured at the event, with each hole named for a well-known New Zealand course.

The event is part of a New Zealand ‘season’ in Indonesia this year, where a range of activities have been held under the brand ‘New Zealand – Indonesia: Maju Bersama (advancing together)’. Through these events, New Zealand has celebrated its deep and long-standing ties with Indonesia, and explored opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration in the future.
