New Zealand's Ambassador to Indonesia visits ACG International School in Jakarta
New Zealand’s Ambassador to Indonesia, David Taylor, and the Embassy’s Second Secretary, Dr James Waite, visited ACG International School in Jakarta recently.
ACG International School is a partnership between New Zealand company ACG and an Indonesian partner. Since its establishment in 2004, the school has grown rapidly. There are around 220 students at the school, which provides learning for children from school entry age to 11th grade.
ACG is planning to re-develop the campus over the next two years. This will provide potential for the roll to increase to 560 students.
"This is perhaps one of New Zealand's largest single private sector investments in Indonesia in recent years", Ambassador Taylor said. "It's great to see New Zealand interests engaging in education in Indonesia and providing high quality and stimulating education in a safe environment.”
ACG Jakarta awarded its first scholarship to an Indonesian family recently. The scholarship allows for the family’s two boys to be educated in Auckland.
The school hopes that many more students at ACG will take advantage of its educational pathway available in New Zealand, said AGC's Principal Chris Rawlins.
