New Zealand Embassy Tokyo, Japan

What the Embassy does

The New Zealand Embassy is charged with carrying out the New Zealand Government's business with Japan.

The focus of the Embassy's work is managing New Zealand's political, economic, trade, security and other relations with Japan.

The Embassy is staffed by a number of locally engaged staff and a team of officers from the NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in Wellington, and from the NZ Defence Force. The Embassy also includes a NZ Trade and Enterprise office which is responsible for promoting and developing New Zealand's export trade with Japan and investment in New Zealand.

New Zealand has four NZ Honorary Consuls in Japan. They are located in Sapporo, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Nagoya.
