Hague Convention on International Parental Child Abduction

The New Zealand Embassy is supportive of the Government of Japan’s announcement last May of its intention to join the Hague Convention on International Parental Child Abduction. We encourage Japan to advance its Hague Convention ratification process and implementing legislation as close as possible to the widely accepted world standards.

The Government of Japan has created a public comment forum regarding implementing legislation for the Hague Convention.
