Naoya Kakizoe made Honorary Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit

It was announced in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours list that Mr Naoya Kakizoe, former president of Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd, has been made an Honorary Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of his services to New Zealand-Japan relations.

Mr Kakizoe played a key role in the development of the fishing industry links between the two countries over many years and has been an important contributor to the wider business relationship between New Zealand and Japan. He is currently a director of Sealord as well as board advisor to Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd.
