Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully has announced that New Zealand will lift all its travel sanctions against Fiji.
“The progress that Fiji is making towards holding free and fair deserves recognition from the Pacific region and international community,” Mr McCully says.


 The Government of New Zealand has established the Dr Kawase Scholarship to send two dairy farmers from Hokkaido to an agricultural training centre in New Zealand for 8-9 weeks, to encourage development and technological exchanges of the dairy industries between our two nations.

Japanese architect Shigeru Ban has been named the winner of this year's Pritzker Architecture Prize. The prize, established in 1979 and often viewd as the 'Nobel' of architecture, is awarded to living architects who have made contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture.


New Zealand received a visiting delegation from Keidanren (Japan Business Federation), Japan’s leading business advocacy organisation, over 17 – 18 March. 

This group of top business and corporate figures, led by Chairman Hiromasa Yonekura, came to Wellington to discuss the current Asia-Pacific economic situation, opportunities for growth and cooperation between Japanese and New Zealand businesses, and prospects for trade liberalisation under agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
