Ambassador Rata meets President Park Geun-hye

Ambassador Rata met with President Park Geun-hye on Wednesday 17 April together with Ambassadors from a number of other countries.

He welcomed the President’s warm regard for the New Zealand-Korea bilateral relationship, including her acknowledgement of New Zealand’s support during the Korean War.  He also appreciated hearing the President’s views on latest development on the Korean Peninsula.  On the trade and economic relationship, Ambassador Rata conveyed to President Park New Zealand’s continuing strong hope to see the New Zealand-Korea FTA negotiations advance.
