Ambassador Rata meets with Korean artists

Ambassador Rata invited a group of Korean artists to his Residence.

A small group of Korean artists with links to New Zealand gathered at Ambassador Patrick Rata’s Residence on 6 July. Ambassador Rata heard about their artistic endeavours and interest in New Zealand, and he also showed them New Zealand artworks displayed at the Residence. One of the artists present was Mr Kim Hwan Kyung; a recognised master of Korean lacquer-ware painting. Mr Kim explained that he has been using New Zealand paua shell in his artworks for over 40 years.
