Anzac Day Dawn Service: 25 April

On Anzac Day Australians and New Zealanders in Seoul paused and came together to honour the men and women who have served their countries in past conflicts and who continue to serve in their respective armed forces.

This year the commemoration was held at the National War Memorial Museum during the MPVA sponsored re-visit programme to honour the service of Commonwealth Veterans of the Korean War.

96 veterans and supporters (including six from New Zealand) gathered for the Dawn Service. The commemoration included Kemal Ataturk's 'Ode to the Fallen' read by the Turkish Defence Attache, and was attended by members of the diplomatic community, officials from the Republic of Korea and United Nations Command, as well as members of the general public. The service was followed by a traditional 'gunfire' breakfast for over 300 personnel.
