Christchurch Songpa-gu Sister City Youth Ambassadors Scholarship award ceremony

The scholarship recipients with Ambassador Patrick Rata and Mary Johnston from Merrin School in Christchurch.

Six Korean secondary and primary school students from Songpa-gu received Christchurch Songpa-gu Sister City Youth Ambassador Scholarships at a ceremony held at the New Zealand Residence on 30 June. 

Under the scholarships the recipients will visit Christchurch and participate in a programme involving local schools and homestay families.  In his remarks, Ambassador Patrick Rata warmly congratulated the students and welcomed the vibrant relationship existing between Christchurch and Sopa-gu in education.   Attendees at the ceremony included the students and their families, Principals of the schools of the recipients, officials from the Songpa-gu Office and Mary Johnston from Merrin School in Christchurch.

Representative Park In-sook who is a member of the Education Committee in the National Assembly and whose constituency is Songpa A also attended the ceremony.
