Kiwi Chamber holds ‘New Zealand Wine Festival’ in Seoul and Busan

Trade Commissioner Ryan Freer and Vice Mayor Don-Young Cho of Busan City attending the New Zealand Wine Festival in Busan.

The ‘New Zealand Wine Festival’ was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul on May 18 and at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Busan on May 25. Building on the success of New Zealand wine events over the last four years, the Kiwi Chamber held two successful wine events, offering an array of white and red varieties to usher in the hot summer. This year the festival was held in Busan for the first time. The Busan event was very well received and attracted around 150 people, providing a great platform to build from.

With 26 of New Zealand’s finest vineyards pouring a wide-range of premium wines from all over the country, the festivals were a memorable evening for over 500 wine enthusiasts, media and bloggers. An outdoor BBQ and buffet, in the case of Seoul event, was also provided and included tasty beef, lamb, Greenshell mussels, kiwifruit and mineral water from New Zealand. Trade Commissioner Ryan Freer participated in the events, inviting over 70 key wine industry contacts, including sommeliers, importers, wine professors and influential bloggers.
