New Zealand Embassy Seoul, South Korea
Kiwi products and recipes hit Seoul
Sixteen New Zealand food and beverage companies joined forces on 14 November to share New Zealand products and recipes with over 300 experts from the Korean food and beverage industry, including top chefs, menu developers and buyers from major hotels, restaurant chains and catering companies, retailers, food manufacturing companies, importers/distributors, journalists and power bloggers.
The eighth New Zealand Food Connection, organised by NZTE Seoul at the Plaza Hotel, was also a valuable chance for the New Zealand companies to learn more about how their products could be used in the Korean market. Ambassador Patrick Rata welcomed and greeted sixteen New Zealand participants and Korean VIP guests, including representatives from Korean Air and a select group of power bloggers. Trade Commissioner Ryan Freer noted in his welcome speeches that a growing number of Korean consumers recognise the high quality, food safety and value for money of New Zealand products.
New Zealand food and beverage on offer included beef, beef bone extracts, meat pies, beef jerky, King salmon, greenshell mussels, avocados, blackcurrant, avocado spread, basil pesto, juice, beer, ready-to-drinks, syrup and wine.
