New Zealand Inc’s award winning BIFCOM presence

On 8 October, the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, the Director of Busan Film Commission and Ambassador Patrick Rata visited the New Zealand stand at BIFCOM.

Amongst the glitz and glamour of the Busan International Film Festival last week, NZTE and Film New Zealand had their sleeves rolled up at the 13th annual BIFCOM (Busan International Film Commission and Industry Showcase) tradeshow, broadening opportunities for New Zealand’s Screen Industry and scooping the best participant accolade.

NZTE and Film New Zealand jointly operated a pavilion at the BIFCOM held from 6-10 October in Busan, Korea. The New Zealand Inc team also held a New Zealand film reception on 8 October, highlighting New Zealand’s world class film making expertise.

New Zealand Inc’s BIFCOM participation was celebrated by winning the 'Best Design and Marketing Activities' award for our stand and reception, beating out over 75 exhibitors from 19 countries for top honours.

The NZTE-hosted New Zealand reception was attended by 150 international and local guests, including New Zealand Ambassador Patrick Rata and Vice Mayor for international affairs of Busan City, Mr Youn-Kwon Kim, while Busan City Mayor Hur Nam-sik visited the New Zealand pavilion and met with the New Zealand Inc team earlier in the day.
