"The Arrival" was enthusiastically received by audiences in Seoul

Guests had up close encounters with some of the puppet characters at the reception.

New Zealand’s Red Leap Theatre Company’s performance of “The Arrival” was enthusiastically received by audiences at the LG Arts Centre in Kangnam, Seoul.

The performance is based on an illustrated novel by Shaun Tan and tells the story of a migrant arriving in a strange new land. The outstanding opening night performance on 3 May was followed by a 2012 Korea-New Zealand Year of Friendship reception hosted by New Zealand’s Ambassador to Korea, Patrick Rata. Guests were able to meet the cast and crew and had up close encounters with some of the puppet characters. Stories from the night were published by Yonhap News and the Korea Times. The Arrival will also play at the Busan International Performing Arts Festival from 11-13 May.
