Visit to Korea by New Zealand Minister of Commerce, Hon Craig Foss

Minister Foss meeting with Chairman Kim Seokdong of the Financial Services Commission.

Hon Craig Foss visited Korea from 20-23 May to attend the fifth APEC Education Ministers’ Meeting, which took place in Gyeongju. The meeting brought together education ministers, academics and senior officials from the 21 APEC economies to review progress on collaborative education projects and set the direction for a new four-year work programme. Minister Foss represented New Zealand in his capacity as Associate Minister of Education.

During his visit Minister Foss also met with Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, Kim Seokdong, to discuss New Zealand and Korea’s respective approaches to financial market reform. New Zealand Ambassador to Korea, Patrick Rata, hosted a business breakfast where Minister Foss provided an update on New Zealand business regulation reform to Korean businesspeople who have invested in New Zealand and New Zealanders active in the Korean market.
