Driving in Korea
New Zealand Driver Licence holders can exchange their driver licences for a Korean licence at local driving test centres. Please refer to the Korean Drivers License agency. To exchange your licence, you will need to pass a written test and present several documents including a certified copy of your licence which can be obtained from the Embassy in Seoul.
In order to have your licence certified at the Embassy, you will need to obtain a verification (Certificate of Particulars) from the Transport Registry Centre in New Zealand. You can apply by mail, fax or e-mail. Provide your full name, address on the licence, date of birth and licence registration number. Please also include a return address which may be by fax, mail or e-mail. Fees apply.

Once you receive your verification, bring it to the Embassy with your driver's licence. There is a fee of KRW 36,000.
