What the Embassy does

The New Zealand Embassy in Mexico City is responsible for New Zealand's relationship with Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela. The Embassy also provides consular assistance to New Zealanders in Mexico, Central America, Cuba and Venezuela.

New Zealand has Honorary Consulates in El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama.

The New Zealand Embassy is staffed by two officers from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The New Zealand Ambassador to Mexico is Clare Kelly. She is also accredited to: Belize (as High Commissioner), Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela. New Zealand is currently seeking accreditation to the Dominican Republic. The Embassy also employs six locally engaged staff.
