New Zealand Embassy Mexico City
New Zealand contributes more than NZ$103,000 to eight development assistance projects
During the past financial year 08/09, the New Zealand Embassy in Mexico City funded eight projects in Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Head of Mission Fund (HOMF).
The New Zealand Embassy manages the HOMF, which is aimed at supporting small-scale development projects. Recipients are generally non-government organisations and community groups engaged in development activities.
The HOMF is a small grants scheme of the New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID), which enables New Zealand to support activities that manifestly and directly contribute to poverty elimination and meet development needs in recipient countries.
The goal of NZAID is a safe and just world free of poverty and its mission is the elimination of poverty through development partnerships.
